Rodeway Inn & Suites

It was a horrible, uncomfortable experience. I have been to many little cheap hotels which would be a 5 star next to this one. I had to leave earlier than my booked time.
1. The room smelled like stale smoke room.
2. Bedding did not look like it was done, all so smelled stale.
3. Floor was disgusting (sticky carpets is just wild) , no way I could walk on the floor without proper footwear.
4. Dirty diaper in the trash, and I have no children with me, ( this just means cleaning was not done)
5. Moldy fridge (just disgusting)
6. Bathroom floor was sticky and disgusting, the sink still had paste residue , shower curtain smelled like dirty laundry left in washer, dirty and mold on molding, ceiling falling over the tub and water bubbles through the entire room. Shower water did not go down properly. 🤮🤢🤮
7. Room curtains completely dirty as if not washed in years.
8. Safety lock in the room was gone as if the room door had once been kicked down.
9. Iron board looked like it was taken from the trash.
10. The entire room was completely unsanitary, outdated, squalid looking, just a horrible experience.
Places like have absolutely no reason being opened to the public. And what is worse charging $249 a night. L&I should be called on this place.
I stayed the first night because it was late and need to rest. But was completely unhappy with the room and requested a refund. I DO NOT recommend to anyone and I do me anyone. It seems to me that if no one complains they will just continue to rent those squalid looking rooms to anyone that takes it. I can say this is one reason I always take cleaning products to a rental. Adding pictures.

When we were checking in & seeing the first room they tried to put us in:
1. When we got there, the front desk didn’t even greet us or say hello. We had to go up to them and tell them we were checking in.
2. When they sent us to the room, the key card didn’t work. When going back to the office, the front desk employee rolled their eyes and sucked their teeth. They said the key is activated so it could just be the door being stuck but offered no assistance. We literally had to slam into the door to open it
3. After unpacking, discovered so many gross things in the room (see next points) and essentially packed everything right back up because we did not want to stay in that room.
4. There was so much mold in the shower, thick and definitely no evidence it was ever cleaned. It was along the entire perimeter or the shower.
5. Literally broken hair dryer, exposed wires, sitting right next to the sink. We didn’t even try to test it to see if it worked because we were scared of being electrocuted.
6. The fan was not working in the bathroom - makes sense why there is so much mold
7. The floor was absolutely disgusting, all the kids feet turned black after 30 minutes of walking on the floor barefoot, never have I seen my child’s feet that dirty and we sometimes go days without vacuuming or mopping.
8. Under the couch cushions were absolutely filthy AND there was a dirty used cotton swab on it. It honestly looked like no one ever picked the cushions up
9. Under the mattresses was also super dirty - there were clumps of hair and dirt - something that a vacuum would have definitely swept up
10. There was a super questionable looking white stain splashed near front door next to the gross couch
11. We are on 1st floor and the outdoor space, there were so many weeds and the grass didn’t look like it’s been cut. We later found out that there were FLEAS in the grass
12. The bathroom sink still had tooth paste stains inside
13. There was a brown splatter near the front door
14. The lamp outlets were disgusting and looked like they may have been tampered with, and we were afraid to use them
15. There were weird brown stains on the bed sheets
16. There was no latch lock from the inside of the front door, only the bolt which can be unlocked with a key The other rooms had latch locks
17. After complaining, front desk man admitted that even though he works here he wouldn’t have his family nor his kids stay here. The other front desk employee then told my sister that he doesn’t have kids but if he did, he also wouldn’t let them stay there.
18. They admitted that they have had several issues with their housekeeping but nothing is ever done about it
Additionally, they have electrical panels in the bathroom which is against National Electrical Code and is a fire hazard.

We didn’t even bother staying. We called another (better) motel last-minute up the road for a much more clean, comfortable, and cheaper stay. Our change of stay was due to the negligence of the accommodations. Upon a first look-through, there was mold lining the upper walls and ceiling, especially in the bathroom. There were zero toiletries (including toilet paper). We reserved a non-smoking room, and the fire detector had been removed. We asked the desk to see a different room due to mold and lack of fire detector, and we were offered a smoking room with a fire detector covered in plastic. This second room was also covered in mold and smelled deeply of stale cigarettes. After walking down to the front desk three times in the rain, as there was not a phone number present to call from the room phone, we asked for a refund. The desk clerks were very understanding, as if this happens very frequently. We were prompted to booking.com in order to get our full refund, however, as Rodeway said they cannot refund the first night. Booking.com was overly helpful and has offered compensation for the experience, as mold and lack of following fire code safety is a major concern. After a long day of travel, this was an exhausting, unwelcoming, and stressful experience. Their pictures are false advertising of the room accommodations. Talking to locals about our experience, this is definitely an infamous motel for separate reasons from my own. Please stay away for the health and safety of yourself and family!
